EBU advances EU bioeconomy mainstreaming
The European Bioeconomy University delegation (Luisa Trindade, Dr. Evelyn Reinmuth, Martin Greimel, and Denis Dobrynin) participated in the conference Boosting and Mainstreaming the Bioeconomy. The event was held in Copenhagen as part of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The conference explored the science, innovation, and governance aspects of deploying the bioeconomy. It covered the launch of the New EU Bioeconomy Strategy, its implementation outlook, and lessons from twenty years of bioeconomy development in Europe. Participants discussed the long-term competitiveness of the EU bioeconomy in the context of progress in other countries and regions. The event also focused on topics such as investments and markets, scaling-up biosolutions, and securing a competitive, sustainable biomass supply.
Dr. Evelyn Reinmuth, Head of the Bioeconomy Office at the University of Hohenheim, served as a panellist at the session on building a sustainable market for bio-based products in Europe.
The conference emphasises that it’s time to act by scaling up and accelerating innovative biosolutions and sustainable business cases in Europe.
