BIOSPARK: Connecting education, innovation and industry for a stronger European bioeconomy

A new EBU project, BIOSPARK, has started!

Europe’s growing bioeconomy needs new skills, better learning opportunities and closer collaboration between education and industry.

BIOSPARK aims to address gaps in bioeconomy education by developing new curricula and supporting knowledge exchange. These learning opportunities will respond to current and future skills needs in the bioeconomy.

Building on existing Bio-Based Education Centres, the project will strengthen cooperation between universities, research organisations and industry across Europe. It will make bioeconomy education more accessible, better connected and more responsive to changing needs.

BIOSPARK is a 30-month project funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). It brings together 18 partners across Europe. The project is coordinated by the University of Eastern Finland, with active involvement from other EBU universities.
